Rochester, NY, August 15, 2011 – The City of Newport News, VA has awarded D.A. Smith & Associates a contract to provide professional training and development services in support of their Leadership Development Academy.
Recognizing that more than 25% of its employees are eligible to retire in the next several years, the City’s Leadership Development Academy will ensure that employees at all levels of the organization have the opportunity to expand their level of knowledge, skills and abilities and to contribute at high levels of excellence.
The contract covers professional training and development on topics ranging from project management and performance measurement to coaching employees and advanced communication skills. The contract includes a one-year base with four option years. All work will be performed at Newport News, VA.
